Presage combines a Japanese aesthetic sense with traditional craftsmanship and Seiko’s mechanical watchmaking skills in an original collection that offers Japanese beauty, quality and long-lasting performance. The Seiko Presage Sharp Edged Series is a new design series that revealed a fresh and powerful expression of Japanese artistry. This series captured the simplicity and refinement of traditional Japanese aesthetics in its delicately textured dial and gave it a modern edge with its sharp and angular case construction.

This creation is a deep black urushi lacquer dial created by lacquer master Isshu Tamura and his team, who practice a centuries-old art – one older than watchmaking itself – to craft urushi lacquer that gains in strength as the years pass.Powered by one of Seiko’s latest in-house movements, Caliber 6R55, each watch has a power reserve extending to a full 72 hours, allowing wearers to remove their watch on Friday afternoon and return to it Monday morning without having to reset the time. This marks the first time that this three-day movement has appeared in the Presage Craftsmanship Series.
